You've spotted a CubiCasa tour on a real estate listing and are wondering how it got there, or perhaps you have questions about its display. This article will help you understand CubiCasa's new integration with real estate portals, making floor plans more visible and enhancing the property viewing experience for buyers.
What is the CubiCasa Portal Integration?
CubiCasa has partnered with a major real estate portal, Redfin, to automatically display interactive floor plans and tours on "On-Market" listings. This integration aims to improve the visibility of floor plans, creating a richer experience for potential buyers and making life easier for photographers and agents by streamlining content distribution.
How does it work?
The process is streamlined to ensure your property's tour appears seamlessly on eligible listings:
A property is scanned, and a floor plan/tour is created by CubiCasa (new orders only)
When an agent publishes a listing in the MLS, it gets distributed to these portals.
The portal then attempts to match the CubiCasa scan address with active listings.
If a high-confidence match is found for an "On-Market" listing, the CubiCasa-hosted floor plan/tour will appear on the listing page.
What you'll see on the portals:
CubiCasa tours offer a superior user experience for buyers. You'll see a clean, high-quality, and consistent display of the floor plan in dedicated locations with the Portal's listing display and galleries. All portals are optimizing their experiences to give this valuable content distinct and prioritized placement. If photos were uploaded to the Tour by the user who performed the scan, they may be included in the embedded tour.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the tour only showing on Redfin?
Currently, CubiCasa has an integration created with Redfin. We are interested in highlighting floor plans on any major portal or brokerage site that is willing to integrate and highlight the content while respecting our strict on-market display policies.
I didn't add the tour link to my listing; where did it come from?
CubiCasa has built an integration with Redfin to automatically display floor plan content for On-Market listings. This happens seamlessly for our users and requires no additional effort or fees. We encourage all MLS users to continue to include the Tour links and Floor Plan images in their listings to ensure the high-value floor plan content is available to consumers on all portals.
I want the tour link removed from the portal (Redfin). How can I do this?
No problem! The creator of the Tour can opt-out of the Portal experience by deselecting the checkbox "Allow special display for real estate portals" in the Tour Sharing Settings. Once you make this change on a tour, please allow some time for processing before the content is no longer displayed. This option is available on a tour-by-tour level. If you are not the user who ordered the scan, you can contact CubiCasa support, and we can remove it for you.
Who took the photos associated with this Tour?
Photos are uploaded to CubiCasa by the user who performed the floor plan scan. This upload happens seamlessly on our CubiCasa Tour section of your Order Dashboard.
Will the Tour photos show on the portal?
The photos may be displayed through the embedded Tour link utilized by the portals if the Tour Creator uploaded photos or if they were added on the creator's behalf by CubiCasa. The Portal never receives images as individual photos, and any images embedded in the tour will not override the MLS-provided photos displayed by the Portal.
Why does mine not have photos?
If you're only seeing the floor plan without any listing photos, it means that the owner of this scan hasn't added listing photos to make it a full experience of the CubiCasa Tour. Please read more about it here: Hosted Floor Plan
What if the tour doesn't automatically show on a listing?
This can happen for a variety of reasons. Tours are only shown on select partner portals, so if it shows on one portal but not another, that is likely the cause. Our portal partners determine if they are able to match the address to an on-market listing, and if they are unable to make a match with high confidence, they will omit the tour to prevent incorrect display. The tour could be turned off for public sharing within CubiCasa. If that is the case, it can be re-enabled, and the portals will receive a notice. The listing may not be considered On-Market. To guarantee your Floor Plans show up on real estate portals, you should always include the content in your MLS listing.
Why is information from my floor plan/photo shoot showing on a portal? Are you selling/sharing my data?
The integration is set up to only show content on "On-Market" listings to help aid the consumer experience when viewing properties for sale or rent. The portals do not receive specific property data. Instead, CubiCasa provides them a managed link to the interactive tour Content. Content is removed from the sites after the listing is no longer "On-Market" or if requested through the Opt-out process. This is very similar to other content integrations that the major real estate portals have with existing 3D Tour providers. CubiCasa is committed to providing value while respecting our existing Terms of Services and Privacy Notice, which outlines how we apply state-of-the-art Information Security practices and comply with relevant laws.
Is it legal to have someone else's work (scan/floor plan/photos) on my listing? Will I get in trouble for this?
Yes, this added-value service complies with CubiCasa's existing Terms of Services, and we provide a clear path to deactivating the Tour link so that it does not appear on the Portals in this elevated way. Our users retain that control.
