CubiCasa supports a wide range of image formats to ensure flexibility for real estate professionals, whether you are using standard web-ready files or professional uncompressed RAW sensor data.
Compressed & Semi-Compressed Formats
These formats balance quality with efficiency, making them ideal for faster uploads and standard processing.
JPEG / JPG: The industry standard for digital photography, offering quick processing and broad compatibility.
PNG: A compressed format that maintains high quality minimal compression artifacts.
WEBP: A modern format providing superior compression for web-ready images.
HEIC / AVIF: High-efficiency formats typically used by modern mobile devices.
TIFF: A high-quality format often used for professional printing or complex archiving.
Uncompressed & RAW Formats
For the highest level of editing precision, CubiCasa supports professional RAW formats. These files contain the maximum amount of sensor data, allowing editors to recover detail in deep shadows or bright highlights. The tradeoff is longer uploads and occasional challenges processing the files due to camera makers using a variety of proprietary formats and compression options.
DNG (Digital Negative): A RAW format common in mobile HDR, drone, and professional photography. Our tested support is for DNG version 1.6. Version 1.7 and later may result in failed edits.
Recommendation: When using Adobe DNG Converter, set compatibility to "Camera Raw 7.1 and older" (DNG 1.6).
Camera RAW Files: Native uncompressed files from major manufacturers, including:
Canon (.CR2, .CR3)
Nikon (.NEF, .NRW)
Sony (.ARW, .SRF, .SR2)
NOTE: Support for Sony Lossless Compressed (L) RAW files is not fully complete. At this time, these files may not process successfully or process with a visible border that requires manual cropping after downloading. For the best results without manual editing, please set your Sony camera to Uncompressed or standard Compressed (Not "Lossless Compressed").
Fujifilm (.RAF)
Panasonic (.RW2)
Leica (.RWL, .DNG)
Other Professional Formats: Includes Hasselblad, Olympus/OM System, Pentax, and Sigma.
Maximum File Size
The maximum file size for the AI Editing source photos is 100 Megabytes (MB). If photos exceed this amount the system will display a warning. If you encounter this limit, we recommend converting these files to a smaller format. The system works very well with JPG100 images. This is the recommended approach.
What about Flash images?
We do not recommend uploading flash images due to the way the AI models process the source files. Capturing the scene with natural light and good exposure settings will typically result in the best finished files.
General Guidance
RAW vs JPG: While RAW files contain more data, AI models have been optimized to process high quality JPG files quickly and effectively. JPG allows for faster uploads and fewer file type issues while preserving high quality outputs.
Bracket selection: If submitting multi-image brackets, you must submit files with effective High, Medium, Low exposure brackets to ensure even lighting across the image and in the windows.
Large File Uploads: Professional RAW and uncompressed files are significantly larger than JPEGs. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and do not close your browser until the upload is fully confirmed, especially if uploading from your local computer. Metadata & Grouping: Our system uses file metadata to automatically group your bracketed photos during order creation. If you use third-party software that strips metadata, the groupings may not be accurate during the order creation preview. Incorrect groupings will lead to issues in the edited photos.
