This guide explains how to use the Dropbox integration to upload images for your photo editing orders. This feature allows you to bypass local file uploads by selecting assets directly from your cloud storage.
Prerequisites: Connecting Your Account
Before you can select images from Dropbox, you must link your account in your settings. Note: You must have a Manager user role to configure integrations.
Navigate to Configurations and select the Photo Editing section.
Click on the Integrations tab.
Find the Dropbox section and click Connect.
Follow the prompts to authorize CubiCasa to access your Dropbox account.
Configure File Upload
Restrict photo browsing to folder: Select the folder where you want users to start their search for the files. This is useful to prevent access to folders that do not contain relevant work files
Manage Access: Configure which user roles can read from your Dropbox account. Manager account roles always have access.
Select Your base Source Folder: Define the destination folder where CubiCasa should look for your files.
The selected folder will define the starting point in your Dropbox folder structure where users will be taken to select folders during either photo editing order creation or if they add additional photos following the original submission.
How to Upload Using Dropbox
Once your Dropbox account is connected, authorized user types choose Dropbox as their upload source during the photo editing order creation process.
1. Start Your Order
Begin your order as either a Standalone or Plus-Bundled editing request. When you reach the photo selection screen, you will see two options: Local Files or Dropbox.
2. Select Your Source
Select Dropbox to browse your cloud files.
Important: For a single upload session, all files must come from the same source. If you select Dropbox during order creation, you cannot mix in local files on that specific upload. If you need to upload from your local computer, you may Add Additional Photos once the initial set has been uploaded from Dropbox.
3. Navigate and Select
Browse: Use the interface to navigate your Dropbox folder structure based on the starting directory defined by the Manager.
Add Files: You can select entire folders to add all contained images, or double-click a folder to enter it and select specific files.
4. Review and Grouping
After selecting your files, the system will:
Pull Thumbnails: Generate previews so you can verify you have the correct images.
Note: Some RAW file types cannot generate thumbnails via the Dropbox connection. In these cases, the system will still attempt grouping and you will see a generic thumbnail
Automatic Grouping: Attempt to consolidate bracketed sets (multi-shot exposures) into logical groups using file metadata.
Verification: You should review these groups and individual photos in the gallery view before proceeding. For more information on grouping and group management, please read the article How does AI Photo Grouping Work?
5. Proceed to Summary
Once you are satisfied with your selection, continue to the order summary page to review the order details and submit the order for photo editing.
Tracking Your Upload
After submission, the system will begin pulling the files from Dropbox. You can monitor the progress:
Order History: The "Photo Edit" column will display an Uploading status until the process is complete.
Order Details: Clicking into the Photo Editing tab of the Order will provide incremental updates showing the system’s progress.
