How to Record Your Screen for Troubleshooting

Sometimes, the best way to show us what's happening is to record your screen. This allows our support team to see exactly what you're experiencing, helping us diagnose and resolve issues more quickly. This article will guide you through the simple steps to record your screen on both Apple (iOS) and Android devices.

Why Record Your Screen?

Screen recordings are incredibly helpful for:

  • Demonstrating error messages or unexpected behavior.

  • Showing the steps you're taking when encountering a problem.

  • Providing visual context that's difficult to describe in writing.

How to Record Your Screen

For Apple (iOS) Devices:

  1. Open Control Center:

    • Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen (on iPhones with Face ID) or swipe up from the bottom of the screen (on iPhones with a Home button). 1 art-u1.infcdn.net art-u1.infcdn.net 1.

  2. Start Recording:

    • Look for the gray "Record" button (a circle within a circle). Tap it.

    • A three-second countdown will begin.

  3. Reproduce the Issue:

    • Exit Control Center and perform the actions that lead to the problem you're experiencing.

  4. Stop Recording:

    • Tap the red Screen Recording indicator at the top of your screen.

    • Tap "Stop."

    • The recording will be saved to your "Photos" app.

For Android Devices:

  1. Access Quick Settings:

    • Swipe down from the top of your screen once to open the notification panel.

    • Swipe down again to reveal the Quick Settings panel.

  2. Locate the Screen Recorder Icon:

    • If the "Screen Recorder" icon is visible in the Quick Settings, tap it.

    • If it's not there, you might need to add it:

      • On some devices, tap the pencil icon (or a similar edit icon) to customize your Quick Settings.

      • Find the "Screen record" option and drag it into your Quick Settings panel.

  3. Start Recording:

    • Tap the "Screen Recorder" icon.

    • Choose your desired sound settings:

      • "No sound" (for silent recordings).

      • "Media sound" (to capture sounds from apps).

      • "Media sound and microphone" (to capture both app sounds and your voice). Choose the option that best reflects the audio situation of the issue.

    • Tap "Start recording."

  4. Reproduce the Issue:

    • Perform the actions that lead to the problem you're experiencing.

  5. Stop Recording:

    • When you're finished, swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the "Screen recorder" notification to stop recording.

    • The recording will be saved in your device's "Gallery" app.

Submitting Your Recording:

Once you've recorded your screen, please attach the video file to your chat conversation or email help@cubicasa.com. If the file is too large, you may need to use a file-sharing service (such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer) and provide us with a link.
